Celebrity DJ Kev Seed faces drink driving charge

CELEBRITY DJ Kev Seed was yesterday suspended from Radio City after it emerged he faces a drink driving charge.

The star was stopped by police in Lancashire last Wednesday on the southbound carriageway of the M6 and is due to appear in court today.

A police patrol stopped the 40-year-old DJ in Higher Walton, near Leyland, at 3.25pm on October 1.

He took a breath test which allegedly showed he had 53 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, around one-and-a-half times over the legal limit for driving.

Seed, of Canal View, Melling, is due to appear before South Ribble magistrates this morning.

The DJ made his name at Radio City where he presented the breakfast show.

He was recently moved to front the drive-time programme.

A spokeswoman for the station said: “We have been made aware this morning Kev will be appearing in court. We will pass further comment after his appearance. He has been suspended with immediate effect.”

Seed’s breakfast show attracted more listeners daily than any other morning show in Radio City’s history.
