Man stable after being shot in Everton

A MAN is in a stable condition in hospital after he was shot in the Everton area last night.

The shooting, which police believe was targeted, happened at 9.30pm at the junction of Mark St and St Domingo Road, not far from the Valley pub. The victim, 38, was shot in the left leg and was taken to hospital where is condition early today was said to be stable and not life-threatening.

Merseyside Police say the motive is unclear, but suspect it may have been a targeted attack.

The area around the incident has been cordoned off and police are making house-to-house enquiries and maintaining high-visibility patrols.

The incident was the third shooting in one day in the north of the city.
