Croxteth school closure plan agreed

COUNCILLORS passed plans to close Croxteth comprehensive school yesterday.

Liverpool City Council’s executive board approved the plans, which the Daily Post revealed last week.

Staff at the school are fighting the decision and say they will take it to Government and launch a legal challenge. They say the proposed plan was a bombshell for the school.

Croxteth School will close in 2010, St John Bosco will be refurbished and will admit non-Catholic girls.

De La Salle Catholic Humanities College will be turned into a £20m boys academy which will admit non-Catholic boys.
