Flickr photo favourites capture tide of change

YET more impressive photographs are flooding in to the Daily Post’s Flickr webpage. From Liverpool One to giant spiders, Merseyside’s snappers are creating beautiful records of 2008.

“Project 365/19 – Skyliner”, by Something Wicked This Way Comes, shows how a car park walkway can look as stunning as a colourful skyline.

The photographer says in the caption: “The more I go to Liverpool 1, the more it grows on me. You start noticing the small design details that really add to the ambience.

“The walkway to the car parks from John Lewis, for example, reminds me of an Imac Hard Drive . . . very slick indeed.”

Dewmuw has created “England expects . . .” by capturing the Web of Light sculpture above Exchange Flags.

The crystal arachnid is part of the MADE UP public realm artwork of the International Biennial, and was created by Chinese artist and Beijing Olympics’ Bird’s Nest stadium co-designer Ai Weiwei.

The photograph illustrates how an almost invisible piece of art during daylight comes to life after the sun sets.

The contrast of modern and traditional sculpture adds a great point of interest, as does the unusual angle.

And jimmedia has captured “Resting after hightide . . .” from a scene on Heswall shore.

The atmospheric shot captures the decaying boat perfectly, set against a skyline of ominous clouds.
