Youth killed in St Helens car collision

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was killed when he was hit by a car near a dual carriageway in St Helens.

Police said the collision happened at 11.15pm on Friday, on the eastbound carriage- way of the East Lancs Road, in St Helens, at the junction with the Rainford bypass.

Flowers have since been left at the scene.

The teenager, who was hit by a silver Ford Ka, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Merseyside Police said the driver stopped at the scene and is helping officers with their inquiries.
