Police at scene of stabbing on Park Road 320
POLICE vowed yesterday that the offenders responsible for stabbing a man in a racially aggravated attack will “learn the hard way”.
The 24-year-old Arabic victim was attacked outside a Toxteth shop at 8.20pm on Tuesday night, when he was stabbed in the stomach.
The assault, near Park Road newsagents and general store in Park Road, happened minutes after another man, a 24-year-old Yemeni, was threatened and racially abused.
Two hooded white men in their 30s, believed to be the pair who had threatened the newsagent 10 minutes earlier, returned.
It is understood an argument broke out and a man suffered a number of injuries including a stab wound to the stomach.
Acting DCI Peter Parry, said: “This incident shows there are still some people who have not learnt that crimes of this type are completely unacceptable.
“The offenders will learn their lesson the hard way.”
The victim’s condition is stable.
