A MARRIED couple were assaulted in their own home by three masked men.
The men forced their way into the house on Courtenay Road, Woolton, and assaulted the couple, who are in their 60s.
They made repeated demands for cash and property before leaving with two rings worth over £6,000.
One of the rings is a wedding ring of great sentimental value. The first ring is valued at more than £6,000, and is a diamond rectangular-shaped cluster ring with two baguette cut diamonds.
The second is white 18-carat gold with a three flower design.
The incident happened around 8pm last Thursday.
The offenders are described as male and were wearing dark clothing, possibly overalls.
They escaped from the address either across Reynolds Park or via Church Road and a vehicle may have been used.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “This type of offence where violence is used is extremely uncommon.”
