GIANT pumpkins rolled onto the scales at more than 30 stone in the annual competition at a West Lancs farm.
Now in its 14th year, the annual Mere Brow Giant Pumpkin competition, held at Homestead Farm Shop, on Wiggins Lane, in Ormskirk, saw 35 contestants wheel in their prize specimens.
A whopping 717lb was enough to secure the NFU Mutual All England Shield for Clive Bevan who travelled up from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, with his pumpkin.
While The Mere Brow & District Shield was won by Josh Whiteside whose giant pumpkin weighed in at 535lb.
The competition has raised thousands for the North West Air Ambulance in recent years.
