Traffic boost on way to Wales

TRAFFIC jams on the main road between England and Wales are expected to ease as a new traffic scheme nears completion.

Motorists will now be able to use both carriageways along the 5km length on the £58m A5117 Deeside Park Junctions Improvement – but a 40mph speed limit will still be enforced while construction work is completed.

Stephen Greenhalgh, Highways Agency project manager, said: “This is a big moment during the construction of the scheme.

“Traffic travelling between England and Wales will now be able to avoid the congestion that negotiating the junctions used to cause.

“Motorists are asked to be patient and take extra care until the road is completely finished in December.”
