WAGs enjoy a night out at annual Cricket fashion show

IT WAS all WAGs, handbags and drag at Cricket’s annual fashion show last night as paparazzi jostled with anti-fur campaigners outside one of Liverpool’s newest venues.

Popstars and celebrities joined fashion fans on the red carpet at Grey Space, a former bank on Water Street, Liverpool.

Coleen McLoughlin and Alex Curran, both demure in black, had front row seats alongside former Atomic Kittens Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon.

The show was launched with a performance by X Factor rejects Bad Lashes, singing four numbers including Oasis’s Definitely Maybe – the song that got them axed.

Models marched down a catwalk stretching the length of the former banking hall in designs by fashion houses such as Pucci, Chloe and Missoni.

Cricket founder Justine Mills said: “It was great to bring all the fashionistas of Liverpool together and show the country that the city rocks in the fashion stakes.

“This was about bringing international collections to Liverpool – it’s what we do best and everyone loves them.”

Also present were singer Candie Payne, Harry Kewell’s wife Sheree Murphy, The Apprentice’s Alex Wotherspoon and assorted Hollyoaks stars, including Jennifer Metcalfe and Loui Batley.

Designer Kirsty Doyle, a winner of Sky One’s Project Catwalk, who has designed a collection exclusive to Cricket, watched the show from a balcony. The fashion show ended with London DJ/drag queen Jodie Harsh pulling Ms Mills and stylist Lorraine McCulloch on to the catwalk to take a bow.

An after-show party was held at Kingdom bar, North John Street.
