Thousands flock for freaky friday frightners at racecoure meet
THOUSANDS of families turned out for a freaky themed fun day at Aintree Racecourse for its first weekend meeting of the season.
Yesterday, children were treated to beetlejuice magic shows and the little horrors were also able to get their face painted at the Freaky Family Funday sponsored by the Daily Post’s sister paper, the Echo.
The wizard of Aintree kept children entertained with his talking hat, before they were able to have a go making the scariest scars in his craft workshop.
After taking a ride on the haunted fairground, some of the scariest animals were on display in the spooky zoo at the creepy crawly corner.
While, on Saturday evening, there was something for the adults with a unique one-off Legends Poker Challenge during racing.
The poker challenge, held by the meeting’s sponsor Intercasino, saw football legends John Durnin, Stuart Barlow and John Aldridge take on racing personalities Angus Loughran (BBC Presenter and Statto from Baddiel and Skinner show), Lorna Bradburne (RUK presenter), plus top tipster Paul Jacobs, in addition to Aintree racegoers.
