Rising Lib-Dem star quits new post

A RISING star of the Liberal Democrat administration on Liverpool City Council has resigned her posi-tion as an assistant leader after just five months in position.

Cllr Lynnie Williams, who represents Mos-sley Hill and was only elected on to the coun-cil in May, has stood down as assistant executive member for safer, stronger com-munities foregoing the £6,349 allowance that went with the job.

She said work and family commitments meant she was unable to dedicate sufficient time to the role.
