Husband admits killing wife, 45

A FORMER firefighter has admitted stabbing his wife to death.

Anthony de Asha pleaded not guilty to murdering his partner Joanne, but admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Mrs De Asha, 45, was found with fatal knife wounds at her home in Morningside, Crosby, on July 10.

Police had responded to reports from neighbours of a domestic disturbance.

De Asha, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via video-link yesterday and entered his plea.

The 49-year-old will now be seen by two psychiatrists.

The Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Henry Globe, remanded De Asha in custody.
