Christmas lights go on at Liverpool One for the first time
CHRISTMAS lights were switched on at Liverpool One last night for the first time.
The event heralds the beginning of the festive season within the city centre.
Hollyoaks stars Zoe Lister, who plays Zoe Carpenter in the soap and Ellis Hollins, who plays Tom Cunningham, turned on the lights, along with cast members from the Empire production of Cinderella.
One of the biggest outside grottos in the region opened its doors, and Santa was pulled to his seasonal home by real reindeer and husky dogs.
A spokeswoman for Liverpool One said: “The atmosphere here is great and we hope people will enjoy the entertainment over the Christmas period.”
Food was also served at the German market, and Jack Frost and Ice Queen characters wandered through the complex on stilts.
