TWO robbers failed in their attempts to steal cash from a security guard as he entered an Ellesmere Port bank.
The men targeted the officer at 10pm on Tuesday outside the Halifax in Marina Walk.
The 53-year-old guard managed to get through the main doors of the bank and lock them before the thieves could get their hands on the cash cartridges he was carrying.
The offenders fled in a dark blue saloon car driven by another male that was last seen heading in the direction of the Civic Hall.
One of the males is described as being in his late teens and of average height and large build. His accomplice was wearing a white scarf.
The security officer, who is from the Wrexham area, was not hurt.
Witnesses are asked to contact police on 01244 613140.
