Blitz on crime brings results

POLICE are claiming a significant achievement in tackling crime in Knowsley.

Arrests over the past six weeks have led to a total of over 55 years prison sentences for various offences.

Among some of those sent to jail were brothers Nathan, 19, and Jason McGrail, 18, from Bakers Green, sentenced to seven years imprisonment each for possession of a gun and ammunition.

Anthony Noon, 23, from Southdene, Kirkby, was sentenced to five years for an unprovoked assault.

Stephen Arnold, 35, from Fazakerley, was sentenced to four years eight months for robbing a taxi driver.

John Muldoon, 26, from Fazakerley, was sentenced to 11 years for a series of armed robbery offences.

Detective chief inspector Chris Green said: “This is a great achievement.”
