AN EXPERIMENTAL track recorded by the Beatles in 1967 may soon be released, thanks to Sir Paul McCartney.
Carnival of Light, the 14-minute improvised track – consisting of shrieks, gargles and church organs – was deemed too adventurous by three of the Beatles.
On BBC Radio 4 arts programme Front Row, to be broadcast on Thursday, Sir Paul says he still has a master tape of the work and adds: “The time’s come for it to get its moment”.
Producer George Martin, who oversaw the recording, has described is as “a kind of uncomposed free-for-all melange of sound.”
