Entrepreneurial sisters revolutionise the vending machine

NORRIS Green graduates Talia and Kayleigh Baccino are proving the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well.

The sisters, who both graduated from John Moores University earlier this year, have set up a family business selling the Trendy Vend.

A new take on the traditional toilet vending machine, the Trendy Vend offers lipgloss, hairspray and comb, deodorant, eyeliner, concealer and Party Feet for sale between £2-4.

And, 18 months after first coming up with the idea, the Trendy Vend has been installed in three Liverpool clubs – Alma De Cuba, Cube and Club So.

Talia, 21, said: “Kayleigh and I were on a night out and we went to the toilet where we heard lots of women asking to borrow lipgloss or hairspray.

“The following morning, we thought why don't we design a vending machine to sell all these things.”

They are hoping to secure another five venues in the New Year, and are finalists in this year’s Morgan Foundation Awards with a £10,000 prize.
