Park free for four hours

FREE short-stay parking is to be reintroduced in Ellesmere Port’s town centre car park.

It means shoppers will be allowed four hours’ free parking at the main car park near Asda and the market. All other town centre car parks will remain pay and display.

Charges will remain in force until at least December 15 to allow for the amended traffic orders to be advertised.

Margaret Morris, Ellesmere Port and Neston council’s parking services unit manager, said: “People must still purchase a pay and display ticket until the new system is introduced in four weeks or so.

“Even when free short-stay parking is introduced in the town centre car park, people must still display a ticket in their window showing their arrival time.”
