Liverpool’s coroner Andre Rebello adjourned Joseph’s inquest until April 7 2009 at 11am.
He added: "Unless something dramatic in the case happens then the inquest must be adjourned until then."
Five youths arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in relation to Joseph’s death were arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
Police arrested two 14-year-old boys, a 15-year-old boy, a 20-year-old man from Vauxhall, a 19-year-old man from Kirkdale and a 16-year-old boy from Kirkdale.
