AN ANONYMOUS benefactor has stepped in to help a leading Wirral-based cancer research charity.
The well-wisher has made a generous offer of a shop in Bebington to the beleaguered Clatterbridge Cancer Research charity – served notice by the Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology to close its shop in the hospital concourse.
But the charity received a boost yesterday after their anonymous “local hero” decided against selling his shop and instead offered it rent-free to Clatterbridge Cancer Research.
Clatterbridge Cancer Research is an independent charity which relies solely on voluntary donations to help meet the £2m required annually to continue its work.
The charity called the offer “a wonderful gesture and one we will explore immediately”.
