Toys flood in to help Liverpool Unites appeal
TOYS are already flooding in to Greggs stores to help children in Merseyside enjoy a brighter Christmas.
The bakery chain is joining the Daily Post in backing Liverpool Unites, and Lions Clubs of Great Britain to help sick and under-privileged youngsters.
Unwrapped toys, stocking fillers, games and sweets can be taken to participating Greggs stores until December 12. The Toy Appeal is also in need of gifts including books and CDs for older children. The presents will then be delivered to chil-dren’s homes, charities and hospitals by the Lions Clubs of Great Britain in time for December 25. Katie Mercer, Liverpool Unites fundraiser, said: “As Liverpool Unites is helping children across Merseyside, we’re delighted to help bring some festive cheer to thousands of young people.”
