LIVERPOOL’S Brownlow Hill will be closed between Crown Street and Great Newton Street this weekend, as United Utilities continues work to renew water pipes.
The works, first scheduled for next weekend, have been brought forward to fit in with other works being carried out in the city centre.
Signs and diversions will be in place from now until Sunday to alert drivers.
The work is part of a £2.9bn water quality and environmental improvement programme for 2005-10.
WIRRAL Council has announced an emergency road closure to allow engineers to repair a gas leak.
Hinderton Road, Tranmere, will stay closed for a week from its junction with Argyle Street South to the junction with Holt Hill.
Access for local people will be maintained.
