LIVERPOOL Law Society has given the NSPCC’s Safe Place Appeal on Merseyside £22,000.
Society president Anne Heseltine presented the cheque during their annual dinner at the Adelphi Hotel.
Phil Redmond, creative director of Liverpool Culture Company and Paul Marsh, national president of the Law Society of England and Wales, were the guest speakers.
The money was raised during an auction and raffle at the society’s charity summer ball earlier in the year.
Ms Heseltine said: “We are absolutely delighted to have raised so much money for such a worthy cause, and we are proud that every single penny will go towards helping some of Merseyside’s most vulnerable children.”
Lizzie Pickup, NSPCC corporate fundraising manager for the North West, said: “We are extremely grateful to the Liverpool Law Society for raising such a fantastic amount.
“Through our work at the Hargreaves centre we have a chance of making a difference to a child’s life and the money raised will go a long way in helping us provide much-needed services for Merseyside’s children.”
