London mayor meets businesses leaders

LEADING lawyers DLA Piper helped welcome the UK’s global ambassador for financial and professional services to Liverpool last week.

The City of London’s new Lord Mayor, Ian Luder, was visiting business leaders and members of the city’s professional community on Wednesday and Thursday.

The tour included a private viewing at TATE Liverpool of the DLA Piper Series – The Twentieth Century: How it Looked and How it Felt.

Philip Rooney, managing partner at DLA Piper Liverpool, said: “The Lord Mayor of London plays a key role in promoting the UK as one of the world’s leading centres for financial and professional services.

“We were delighted to help to showcase the importance of these sectors in the Liverpool City region, and were especially pleased to be able to highlight the city’s cultural offer, which differentiates Liverpool from other UK centres and helps it to compete nationally and globally .”

The trip was organised by The Mersey Partnership and the Northwest Regional Development Agency to help promote the importance of financial and professional business services within the region.
