A NEW worldwide appeal is being planned to find missing Madeleine McCann.
Her mother, Kate McCann, remains certain she is still alive and is planning the action at Christmas to help find the toddler.
Mrs McCann, from Allerton, and husband Gerry, both 40, are facing their second Christmas without Maddie.
A sporting hero, who has yet to be named, will front the TV appeal. The celebrity will speak as previously unseen footage of Maddie is screened.
The little girl was nearly four when she vanished from a holiday apartment in Portugal 19 months ago.
McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “Kate and Gerry do not want to appear themselves, but they are keen to invigorate interest in the search.”
