Brother is charged

A LIVERPOOL man has made his first court appearance charged with attempting to murder his brother.

Michael Lye is accused of stabbing his brother Jamie Johnstone in the chest. It is alleged the pair were scuffling as Lye stabbed him on November 17.

Mr Johnstone was taken to hospital.

Lye, 26, of Colwell Close, Dovecot, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via video-link from Walton prison.

He did not enter any pleas.

A fixed plea and case management hearing was set for January 19; trial date was set for Feb 2.
