Hospice given two televisions thanks to £2.5m Lottery winner
A MULTI-MILLION pound Lottery winner from Wirral has helped a children’s hospice by nominating it to receive a share of unclaimed winnings.
The money was used to buy two flat screen televisions for family rooms in Claire House, in Clatterbridge.
The hospice, which will celebrate its 10th birthday next year, has struggled to meet its fundraising targets this year, which made the donation all the more welcome.
Abi Smith, head of appeals, said: “Now, parents will be able to watch TV in the mornings, or put it on if they’re having a bad night.”
Former Merseyrail guard Ben Woods won £2.5m in 2004 when he was just 23.
Ben said: “Being in my local area, Claire House is a charity I wanted to help. Hopefully my gift will help bring a happier Christmas to some of the parents and children.”
