Legal firm recruits all-female graduates for New Year intake

WALKER Smith Way selected an all-female trio of trainees last week for their new intake.

They will spend two years gaining experience working in four departments throughout the firm, which has offices in Chester and Wrexham.

Rebecca Rushton, 24, and Elaine McCrea, 26, will start their training in the firm’s Chester office. Laura Nelson, 25, will start in the Wrexham office.

They are all graduates of the legal practice course at Christleton Law College, Chester.

The firm’s training partner, Neil Turnbull, said: “We are delighted to welcome our latest batch of trainees to Walker Smith Way. We pride ourselves in offering excellent legal training in order to attract the very best recruits to the area.”

Elaine McCrea, originally from Tyrone, in Northern Ireland, worked as a legal secretary in the firm before her training.

Ms McCrea said: “I’ve done a Masters degree which involved research on the trade union movement and, as Walker Smith Way do a lot of work with unions, it is a great firm for me to be working for.”

Ms Rushton added: “Walker Smith Way has an impressive reputation for training new solicitors. I am delighted to be starting my legal career with them.”
