RSPCA fury at thugs who smashed a pet rabbit to death

THE RSPCA is horrified at a savage attack which left a Merseyside family’s pet rabbit barely alive.

The adult, white female domestic rabbit, called Flopsy, later died of multiple head injuries after being found by her owner, Joanne Parker. Ms Parker discovered the pet outside her home in Tobruk Road, in Huyton.

She said: “Flopsy was part of our family, and my baby daughter was particularly attached to her. She still goes to the back door looking for her.” The RSPCA is appealing for information about the attack on the morning of Thursday, November 27.

RSPCA Deputy Chief Inspector Carla Hay said: “This kind of deliberate cruelty defies belief. Not only was this attack senseless, callous and gruesome, but it was against a tiny, helpless creature.”

ANYONE with information can contact the RSPCA in confidence on 0300 123 4999 and leave a message for Carla Hay.
