A DAILY two-hour train service between Liverpool and London will arrive next week as part of the newly- completed West Coast mainline refurbishment.
A 7am Virgin service from Lime Street will arrive in London Euston at 9.01am, perfect for business travellers heading to the capital.
Virgin Trains will run more trains at faster speeds between Liverpool and London
than ever before, it was announced yesterday.
The average journey time from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston will be slashed by 22 minutes from the current two hours 30 mins.
From December 14, trains will average 95.2mph point to point, with Runcorn to London taking just 1hr 52 mins.
There will also be more direct trains at weekends between Liverpool and London, and on Sundays an additional late afternoon departure.
The cost of the cheapest single ticket to London from Liverpool or Runcorn will drop from £13 to £8. Virgin have vowed not to increase the fare in January.
There will also be two trains an hour running from Liverpool to Birmingham, instead of just one under the current timetable.
