Bundles of joy arrive on a truly memorable day

MERSEYSIDE mothers gave birth to at least five festive bundles of joy yesterday.

Jack Grainger was the first Christmas Day bay, arriving a month earlier than expected at 12.35am.

The 5lb 8oz boy made it home to Moreton to join his five older brothers for Christmas dinner.

Parents Kerry Jackson, 31, and Carl Grainger, 36, were delighted to see Jack arrive at Arrowe Park Hospital on such a festive day.

He was greeted by brothers Barry, 15, John, 13, Sean, 12, Eric, 10, and four-year-old Charlie.

Ms Jackson said: “I would have liked a little girl but I’m more than happy to have six boys, although I think I might stop now.

“Jack was due in January but we thought he might be early because Charlie arrived five weeks early. I still never thought he would be born on Christmas Day.

“He probably didn’t want to miss out on the fun.”

Jack narrowly pipped little Daniel Garrett-Frances to being the first baby born yesterday.
