A SEMI-detached house was filled with smoke on Tuesday when a tumble drier caught fire.
Two fire crews were called to the house on Clifford Road, Penketh, near Warrington, shortly after 9.30pm.
They entered the house using full breathing equipment and doused the flames with two hosereels.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The house had smoke detectors fitted, which did activate when the fire started.”
