A BURGLAR who allegedly stole a family’s entire set of Christmas presents was arrested just hours after the crime yesterday.

The 44-year-old was caught just streets away still holding the gifts.

Police say the disappointed family were reunited with the presents.

Officers were called to their house on Mill Court, Netherton, at 4.45am.

But the Bootle man was spotted on St Christopher’s Avenue, Litherland, shortly after the alarm was raised.

Detective Inspector Pauline Trubshaw said last night: “I’m pleased that the good work of these officers means this family were able to enjoy Christmas Day.”
