Expert tells of child porn trail on ex-Clubmoor councillor’s computer

A COMPUTER expert has given evidence in the case of a former Labour councillor accused of child pornography charges.

Teacher and ex-Liverpool city councillor Ben Williams is alleged to have used school computers to scour the internet with terms such as “baby porn” and “Lolita”.

An investigation was launched after staff at King George V school, Southport, became suspicious and his computers were seized.

Williams, 35, of Townsend Avenue, Norris Green, now faces 10 charges of making indecent images, which he denies.

Computer expert Benedict Hyland yesterday described to a jury at Liverpool Crown Court how a trail was left on the machines used by former Clubmoor councillor Williams.

Mr Hyland confirmed no material had been copied or saved in any folders.
