A TEENAGER has died after being hit earlier this week by a van on a busy Liverpool road.
Dale Burrows, 18, lost his fight for life in hospital on Thursday night, the day after the accident on Prescot Road, near to the junction with Green Lane in Old Swan.
He was hit by a silver Ford Transit van at around 10.50am on Wednesday and police are appealing for more information about the crash.
The teenager, from Wavertree, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, internal injuries and a broken leg, but later died.
The 28-year-old male driver stopped at the scene.
Last night friends left tributes on website gonetoosoon.org. One read: “YPAS (Young Person’s Advice Service) is never gonna be the same without you Dale.
“Thank the Lord you gave all of us a big hug the day before we lost you.”
Another said: “Can’t believe you’ve gone, you always had a smile on your face. We will always remember you Dale. R.I.P.”
Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses to the accident.
