Graham McKenna, died after he and his son were stabbed _320
TEACHERS of a 14-year-old who was stabbed in a domestic attack in which his father later died have wished him a speedy recovery.
Michael McKenna and his father, Graham, were both stabbed in the abdomen on Upton Road, in Claughton, on Saturday afternoon, as they went to catch a bus to Goodison Park.
Yesterday, the teenager’s headteacher at Ridgeway High School, in Noctorum, Pauline Roberts, praised the “popular and hardworking” student.
She said: “Staff and pupils here are deeply shocked by what has happened to Michael and his father. Michael is a popular and hardworking year 10 student who contributes fully to the life of the school.
“On behalf of the governors of the school, staff and pupils I hope that he makes a full recovery and is well enough to return to our school soon.
“On behalf of all of the friends and staff of the school we offer our sincere condolences to the McKenna family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.”
Michael was last night said to be in a stable condition with his family by his bedside.
On Sunday Merseyside police named Gary Finlay as the man they wanted to speak to in connection with the double stabbing, describing him as dangerous and not to be approached.
