Police uncover Chester cannabis farm

CANNABIS with a street value of around £300,000 has been uncovered by police in Chester.

The haul was discovered in a farmhouse in Oldcastle, Malpas.

A 34-year-old man from Manchester was arrested and bailed.

Sgt Andy Smith who led the investigation, said: “Criminals from urban areas that are involved in the production and supply of illegal drugs have the misguided belief that rural locations can provide a good cover for their activities.

“They are wrong. We always work hard to gather intelligence to shut their illegal businesses.”
