A WOMAN has been charged with murdering her aunt.
Jean Nevin, 81, was found strangled in the living room of her bungalow off Green Leach Lane, in Haresfinch, St Helens.
Police have charged Mrs Nevin’s 53-year-old niece, Diane Stephens, from Warrington, with murder.
It is understood a neighbour found the body of Mrs Nevin in the bungalow, which looks out on to Haresfinch Park on Monday, January 12.
Mrs Nevin, a widow, had two adult granddaughters who both live in St Helens.
Diane Stephens, of Birchdale Road, Appleton, Warrington, has appeared before St Helens magistrates’ charged with murder and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on February 9.
