SIR Paul McCartney has revealed he will marry his new girlfriend, after she finalised her divorce from her husband, lawyer Bruce Blakeman.
Sir Paul has told friends he now plans to wed US haulage heiress Nancy Shevell, saying: “We are blissfully happy together.”
It is understood that he has the blessing of daughter Stella, who never took to the Liverpool musician’s previous wife, Heather Mills.
Friends say Stella would be delighted to welcome Nancy into the family.
Nancy’s divorce was signed on December 2 and made final on December 9 in the US Supreme Court of the State of New York.
The couple divorced in the most amicable way under the city’s laws – after being legally separated for a year and 60 days.
The former Beatle has sought the approval of the family of his first wife, Linda, who died in 1998.
Nancy, who has a 17-year-old son from her first marriage, spent Christmas in the UK with Paul at his Peasmarsh Estate, near Rye, in East Sussex, and his mansion in London’s St John’s Wood.
