City twestival for Twitters
Jan 27 2009 by Alistair Houghton, Liverpool Daily Post
LIVERPOOL users of social networking website Twitter are staging the city's first Twestival fundraising event.
Twitter – a “micro-blogging” made famous by celebrity users Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross – is one of the fastest growing online networking sites.
On Thursday, February 12, more than 100 cities throughout the world will be holding Twestival events where people who have met online through Twitter can meet face-to-face. All the events will raise money for charity: water, which aims to bring clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries.
The Liverpool event will be held in Leaf tea Shop and Bar, in Parliament Street
