A VAN driver sexually assaulted a teenager in the back of his vehicle after offering to help her find a job, a court has heard.
Anthony Rimmer, 47, is alleged to have attacked the 18-year-old girl after promising to get her work.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that, when she tried to fight him off, he locked her in the back of his van and drove her around for a few minutes.
Rimmer, of Oakfield Road, Walton, denies sexual assault and false imprisonment on August 26, last year.
He told police the young woman had taken a shine to him and had suggesting climbing into the back of the van.
Mr Baxter told the court the teenager, who cannot be named, had gone into a Liscard off-licence, in Wirral, asking for directions for a shop which she had been told had work going.
Instead, Rimmer told the young woman he knew people who were recruiting and offered to take her.
The court heard the girl made furtive calls to her boyfriend as she became increasingly distressed.
It is alleged Rimmer then took the girl to a Bidston car park where he ordered her to get into the back of his van and began to molest her.
The case continues.
