Ambulance query delays inquest

A SALESMAN died after getting angry with a colleague and stepping out of a moving van, a coroner’s court was told.

But yesterday the deputy coroner Anita Bharnwarj adjourned the inquest into Paul Gorman’s death to investigate what held up his ambulance.

Mr Gorman, 30, lay bleeding on Boundary Road, Litherland, for 25 minutes before paramedics arrived. It then took a further 25 minutes before he got to hospital.

The double glazing salesman, from Golborne, Warrington, had stepped out of a Ford Transit minibus that was doing 30mph to 40mph after a row at about 7pm on December 1 last year.

He died of massive head injuries 12 days later.

The case will now resume on March 11 once more detailed evidence has been discovered.
