A WIRRAL law firm helped former world champion boxer Chris Eubank defend driving charges last week.
Eubank, 42, was banned from driving after being convicted of speeding and driving without insurance in 2007.
And in September, 2008, he was charged with driving without insurance and driving while disqualified, after which he instructed Beech Jones de Lloyd to represent him.
Following a review of evidence submitted by the firm to the Crown Prosecution Service, in November prosecutors discontinued the proceedings on both later charges, but re-charged the sports star with original charges from 2007.
But, at a trial last week, the prosecution discontinued the “no insurance” charge after Eubank’s legal team made submissions.
He then pleaded guilty to speeding, and was disqualified for 48 days.
Beech Jones de Lloyd’s Robin Chubb yesterday hailed the result as a victory for the firm and its client.
Eubank added: “I have learnt an immensely valuable lesson from this case and it has made me, more than ever, extremely aware of a driver’s responsibility.
“I am very grateful to Beech Jones de Lloyd for their representation, support and guidance . . . and I am very happy with the result.”
