Black tie ball for charity

A CHARITY ball is being held to raise awareness of an “invisible” disease, which affects thousands of Merseysiders.

The event, at Knowsley Hall on March 6, is organised by Liverpool-based charity Respiratory Education UK (REUK), which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

It aims to raise funds for care and research into Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, which affects 3.7m people in the UK, with 2.8m cases yet to be diagnosed.

Paul Crone, from Granada Reports, will present the evening, along with other special guests.

Tickets to the Black Tie and Diamonds Ball cost £65, including a Champagne reception, five-star dinner, and a charity auction. Call Gill Butler on 0151 529 6254 or 07731 959079.
