A BOMB blast in a crowded Cairo tourist bazaar killed a French woman and wounded 17 others, mostly foreigners, Egyptian police said last night.
The bomb tore through the crowded Khan el-Khalili bazaar, popular with tourists, next to the historic Hussein mosque.
The official said a second bomb was discovered and safely detonated.
Earlier reports said 11 French and three German tourists were among the injured.
A police colonel at the scene said the small bomb went off outside a cafe near the mosque kicking up stone and marble fragments, which wounded the passers-by.
Riot police cordoned off the area and sniffer dogs could be seen as people were being evacuated.
