Four more men appear in court over Steven Gerrard bar ‘brawl’

FOUR men charged with offences in connection with the same brawl, at Southport’s Lounge Inn, which saw Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard accused of assault and affray, appeared in court yesterday.

John Brown, defending Accrington Stanley goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin, 28, of Guildford Road, Southport, said his client would not indicate a plea to an affray charge, while the same club’s midfielder, Robert Grant, 18, of Enstone Avenue, Litherland, did not indicate a plea to two separate affray charges.

Paul McGrattan, 31, of Linden Drive, Huyton, pleaded not guilty to assault and did not indicate a plea to affray.

John McGrattan, 33, of Rimmer Avenue, Huyton, entered a not guilty plea to an affray charge. All seven defendants will appear before North Sefton magistrates on March 20.
