THE Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender network are holding a special extraordinary meeting tonight following the verdict into the death of Michael Causer.
Senior police officers will address members of Liverpool’s LGBT community on the facts of the case.
Tommy McIlravey, chairman of Liverpool’s LGBT, said the group had decided to hold a special meeting given the feeling of shock and anger at the verdict.
He said officers would able to outline the facts of the court case in the hope of helping the LGBT community come to terms with Michael’s death.
Michael, 18, was killed on July 25 last year in what police described at the time as a homophobic attack.
Gavin Alker, 19, of Runcorn, was cleared of beating him to death.
The meeting follows protests led by Michael’s mother and members of the community into the acquittal of Alker last Friday.
