Teenager tells Liverpool Crown Court of fatal attack

A 14-YEAR-OLD girl has relived the moment she saw a young mother being stamped on as she lay dying in the street.

The schoolgirl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, watched the final moments of Rachel Jones’s life as she lay in a pool of blood.

Jurors at Liverpool Crown Court watched a video interview of the youngster, who told how she saw a bleached blonde woman repeatedly stamp on the mother-of-two’s head and chest as she lay on the floor.

The girl said the attacker returned to hit her again. She told how the woman, wearing a white Adidas top, walked away laughing.

Louise Gardner, 26, of Mallow Road, Kensington, has admitted causing Ms Jones’s death, but denies murder. She is accused of carrying out a frenzied attack on Ms Jones in revenge for smashing her window.

The case continues.
