UNION leaders last night vowed to fight compulsory redundancies at Liverpool’s Royal & SunAlliance (RSA) after the insurance giant announced 1,200 job losses.
Unite the Union's regional officer, Martin McKeown, said: “Unite is disappointed by the job losses.
“We have been involved in consultation with the company and both parties remain committed to mitigating the consequences of this decision.”
He added: “Our immediate priority is to communicate with our representatives and members to ascertain their reaction to this announcement.
“Unite will oppose any compulsory redundancies arising from this exercise.”
